Hain-Celestial Canada, ULC - Environmental Compliance Approval (air)

This proposal is for an Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise) which replaces all the current Environmental Compliance Approvals for air at this facility and includes the addition of new or historically unapproved sources for all emissions from Hain-Celestial Canada, ULC, producer of cosmetics, shampoos and personal care products, located at 5675 Keaton Crescent in the City of Mississauga, Ontario.

The application includes all sources at the facility, including:

• boiler rooms (process heating),
• AC unit on the non-petroleum jelly line,
• shampoo filling line,
• welding processes,
• tank mixing,
• tank holding, and
• raw material and alcohol tanks

Emissions to the air from this facility include:

• nitrogen oxides
• fatty acids
• volatile organic compounds including isopropyl alcohol, salicylic acid and sodium chloride

The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The limited operational flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
