This proposal is for a new Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) for Burnt River Properties, Inc., a limestone crushing facility and quarry, located in the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.
This application includes all emission sources from the facility that exhaust to the atmosphere including two crushers, three screeners, three diesel-fired generators powering the crushing plant, and fugitive emissions associated with the handling, storage, crushing, and screening of materials associated with the crushing operations.
Contaminant emissions to the atmosphere include:
- particulate matter,
- nitrogen oxides,
- respirable crystalline silica (quartz),
- sulphur dioxide, and
- carbon monoxide
