Description of Instrument
Vale Canada Limited has submitted an application as required under the Mining Act for prescribed early exploration activities under the leases of Glencore Canada Corporation, in the Township of Norman; approximately 23km north east of Sudbury.
The activities that this permit would allow Vale Canada Limited to carry out are as follows:
Plan Activities
- Geophysical Survey Requiring Generator Type
Permit Activities
- Mechanized Drilling (Assembled Weight >150kg)
Non-Prescribed Activities
- Trails (TS)
Equipment and personnel will be transported on site by truck, ATV and snowmobile; Equipment transported by float, excavator, bulldozer and skidder along existing trails.
An Exploration Permit does not relieve the proponent from compliance with any other requirements that are set out under the Mining Act or any other Act. Further, all activities included in the Exploration Permit proposal must be carried out in compliance with O. Reg 308/12 and the Provincial Standards for Early Exploration. The Exploration Permit duration will be up to 3 years with the possibility of one 3 year renewal.
