The government has released A Place to Grow which replaces the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, 2017. Changes to O. Reg. 525/97 ensure the Minister’s approval is required for official plan amendments that implement provincial mapping for the Agricultural System for the Greater Golden Horseshoe and Natural Heritage System for the Plan.

The Minister has identified 29 provincially significant employment zones that receive enhanced protection under A Place to Grow. Based on feedback, the Ministry has corrected any technical errors to the boundaries for zones and issued revised maps to be used in the Plan’s implementation but will still consider requests to review the zones.

Housekeeping changes to O.Reg. 311/06 clarify how to apply the Plan’s policies, update Plan references, provide clarity for decisions on certain matters before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and rules that are no longer needed.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (Industrial Sewage) was granted to CRH Canada Group Inc. The approval is for sewage works for the collection, transmission and disposal of stormwater at CRH Canada Group's proposed Dufferin Concrete Simcoe Plant located at 193 Concession 8 Townsend, in the Township of Waterford, Norfolk, Ontario.

We have amended an order in relation to Kearney Graphite Mine to ensure that actions are taken to protect the environment.

We have amended the Niagara Escarpment Plan by adding a special policy to apply to the subject property to permit the creation of lots beyond that which is supported by the lot creation policies of the Niagara Escarpment Plan.

We are amending Ontario’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting Requirements under the Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Quantification, Reporting and Verification regulation (O. An a mended Environmental Compliance Approval (Air & Noise) has been issued to Pedersen Construction Inc., for a ready mix concrete facility located in the City of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (Air) has been issued to Miller Paving Limited, a dolomite processing facility and ready-mix concrete batching plant located in the City of Owen Sound, Ontario.

This proposal is for a new Permit To Take Water for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from two (2) wells and one (1) pond.  Permit no. 7703-BAPRGJ was issued on March 28, 2019 for a period of 10 years.

Official Plan Amendment No. 88, as approved with modifications by the Minister, came into effect on April 26, 2019.

Permit to Take Water No. 6343-BAFRAQ was issued, which renews and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 1231-A97RJ5. The Permit was issued on April 24, 2019 with an expiry date of  April 24, 2029.

Permit to Take Water No. 6348-BAFR84 was issued, which renews and replaces Permit to Take Water No. 4233-A97RTY. The Permit was issued on April 24, 2019 with an expiry date of April 24, 2029.

This approval is for a renewal of Permit To Take Water No. 1728-AHJQVM for golf course irrigation purposes. Water will be taken from one (1) waterbody. Permit no. 5481-BB5PGF was issued on April 12, 2019 for a period of 10 years.

This approval is for a renewal of Permit To Take Water No. 8575-7MDQBJ for commercial purposes. Water will be taken from four (4) ponds. Permit no. 1877-BAPLBH was issued on March 28, 2019 for a period of 10 years.

A new Environmental Compliance Approval (Industrial Sewage) was issued to install an Ultraviolet (UV) system as a physical tool to control the infestation of zebra/ quagga mussels in the service water system of the Ranney Falls Hydroelectric Generating Station.
